Bikini Girl returns to 'American Idol' as Kara DioGuardi strips
I have to admit that the 2-hour-dragged-out-finale was quite entertaining this season.
Watching Allison Iraheta's face while she sang with Cyndi Lauper brought me to tears, Katrina Darrell aka Bikini Girl's new assets were a nice surprise and Kara DioGuardi flashing us was an even bigger surprise.
A major memorable moment was the return of Katrina Darrell, the "Idol" hopeful who auditioned earlier this season wearing nothing but a bikini.
Wednesday, she took the stage in her token bikini, and raised many suspicions she'd had plastic surgery. Host Ryan Seacrest even said, "I was going to ask you what's new, but I think I know."
Then, Katrina sang her audition song, "Vision of Love." She was joined mid-song by judge Kara DioGuardi, with whom she fought during auditions. To everyone's surprise, at the end of the song, DioGuardi opened her dress and revealed a black bikini.
“I came dressed in my bathing suit to American idol because, first of all, I figured it would set me apart from the crowd, and secondly because I heard it was a crazy audition process and I figured, well, at least I'll have a tan.”
Bikini Girl wasn't the only "Idol" auditioner returning to the stage. Nick Mitchell, who earned fans with his comedic alter ego Norman Gentle, performed again. So did drama queen Tatiana Del Toro.
The entertainment roster also included musical guests like Cyndi Lauper, Carlos Santana, KISS, David Cook, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, The Black Eyed Peas, Rod Stewart, Kiss, Queen Latifah and Steve
Simon Cowell: Adam Lambert will win 'Idol'
"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell says he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular Fox singing competition show.
Cowell told Oprah Winfrey on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and "he's got swagger."
Winfrey also featured Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle, who is competing on "Britain's Got Talent." Boyle told Winfrey she's "loving every second" of her newfound fame.
The 47-year-old Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables."
One of those judges was Cowell, who congratulated Boyle and wished her "best of luck" on the rest of the competition.
Adam Lambert gets his text from Simon: He'll be doing U2's One.
"Alright, Simon -- it's on."
Simon says it's one of his favorite songs, ever, adding "I had to get permission from the band, because they personally clear it." He got a call from U2 lead singer Bono on Saturday giving Adam permission to sing the song (name dropper).
I've heard some great versions of this songs -- U2, Mary J. Blige, Johnny Cash. Adam starts it at an unbelievably subdued level. It's just gorgeous. But it doesn't last long. He goes from gorgeous to shrieky -- and, I'm sorry, I hate reverting to that over-used descriptor, but there's just no better word to describe it -- in less than two seconds. That trick has worked for a lot of the songs that he's done, but it just sounds awful here. Arrangement's great, though.
Randy says he's still in the zone but didn't love it so much when he went off the melody: "It is a great song, and you're a really, really talented guy." Kara said he just proved that he can take a song and do it in a completely different way (she's just figuring that out?). Paula: "You don't know how miserable my life is right now, sitting next to [Simon] gloating." (Adam says she should hit him again.) Simon thought it was a brilliant song choice and a doubly brilliant version. "If you're not in the final next week, it will be one of the biggest upsets."
Adam suggests the audience rewind the video at home so they can see just how great the lyrics were......see the lyrics as per below...............
Or do you feel the same Will it make it easier on you
Now you got someone to blame
You say One love
One life When its one need
In the night Its one love
We get to share it
It leaves you baby
If you dont care for it
Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well its too late Tonight To drag tha past out
Into the light Were one
But were not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other One
Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come tor raise the dead
Havew you come here to play jesus
To the lepers in your head
Did I ask too much
More than a lot
You gave me nothing
Now its all I got
Were one But were not the same
We hurt each other
Then we do it again You say
Love is a temple Love a higher law
Love is a temple Love the higher law
You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl
And I cant be holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt
One love One blood One life
You got to do what you should
One life With each other
Sisters Brothers One life
But were not the same
We get to carry each other Carry each other
One
Never to shy away from showing his interest in Caldwell, Cook even asked her out on the TV Guide Network. "I'm just excited because I finally get to talk to you," he told her during an interview on the Idol Tonight show Wednesday night, May 21. "I've been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, So I'm actually going to ask you to dinner right now."
Got a 'yes' from Caldwell, Cook was caught dining with her at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in New York over the weekend. On their dinner, Cook was quoted as telling "Extra" Caldwell was "great. So far, I've had a really good time with her."
Cook, moreover, also said during an interview on "Live With Regis and Kelly" Tuesday, May 27, he did have good time with Caldwell adding that "We'll probably hang out again. So we'll see."
Caldwell is a contestant on the second season of Fox Network's singing competition television show "American Idol". She was the sixth finalist eliminated and finished in seventh place.

Oh, that Paula Abdul! Always good for a laugh--even if they are all at her expense.
So, last night on "American Idol" each of the remaining 5 contestants had to sing two Neil Diamond songs. Because the show is only an hour, Ryan Seacrest hauled them out like cattle after they all sang their first song and had the judges do a quickie critique. Paula does her thing, but one problem: she gives feedback to Jason Castro on two songs. Which means one of two things: the show is scripted beyond belief--which could account for Ryan's semi-flustered "you're seeing the future, baby" comment--or Paula was late taking her meds. Or early. Could go either way there.
Paula claimed she got mixed up (shocking!) and that her second song comments were really meant for David Cook's first song. Of course that doesn't explain why her first reaction was "I thought you sang twice" when called on her blunder. Doh!
I swear, though, it made my night watching this. I love the shot of the contestants on stage as she's talking. You know they're all thinking "Huh?" That crazy pillhead really does bring the unintentional comedy gold, that's for sure.
